Intriguing web-fare with sci-fi twists

In a daring deviation, Indian showbiz will have a ‘female’ petrol (CNG) pump attendant played by the talented actress Smita Tambe in this unique sci-fi web-series called Hawa Badle Hassu which will commence streaming on SonyLiv from this Friday.

Starring Vikram Kocchar, Zachary C and others, the series has noted actor Chandan Roy Sanyal in the dynamic lead role of a ‘chatty’ auto-rickshaw driver. The intriguing trailer of the web-series directed by Shiva-Saptaraj has already captivated a large number of viewers.

Actress Smita who was seen in ‘Singham Returns’ movie and is now part of the cast of both ‘Panga’ and ‘Sacred Games, enthuses, “My unusual character Aarti in ‘Hawa Badle..’is also studying for her Ph.D and works for a petrol-gas pump station and wears a uniform as well. It was a challenging role for me as it is a ‘sci-fi’ genre subject with a thought-provoking theme of environment She becomes Hassu’s constant companion because both are very environment conscious which is a common ground for their ‘unspoken’ special bonding to develop. She gives him support and strength to carry on with his mission. At the same time, she becomes skeptical about Hassu as an auto driver, as his wisdom deems him worthy of something much better. She listens with awe at Hassu’s daily lyrical-witticisms-repartees with his passengers. There is shocking twist in the SonyLiv series ‘Hawa Badle..’ when Hassu mysteriously ‘vanishes’,“ smiles Smita known for her hard-hitting lead roles in classy Marathi movies.
