That is what Sherlyn Chopra thinks plays a role in fuelling the controversies surrounding her. In a chat with Dev Goswami, she talks about the person she is, her Playboy experience and Twitter
Controversy or not, there is one thing about Sherlyn Chopra that is evident — she is quite frank and upfront. We get talking with the actress, who is busy shooting for her forthcoming movie Kamasutra 3D.
There is a set image of you in the minds of many people. But, tell us... who exactly is Sherlyn Chopra?
I prefer frankness to diplomacy. I am who I am. The real Sherlyn Chopra enjoys being an exhibitionist with a sense of real integrity. People who fail to comprehend that integrity and nudity can co-exist in harmony will never ever find out who I truly am and what I truly stand for.
Speaking of controversies, how do you handle them?
I merely express myself. If that is perceived as controversial, so be it. I can control my self-image, not perceptions. The perceptions no longer affect the reality of my life.
How was your experience at The Playboy shoot?
It has been one of the best experiences of my life on all accounts. In early 2012, I wanted to do something really big to resurrect my career. Little did I know that while trying to do so, I’d end up resurrecting my life as well!
I came across information that you underwent liposuction. Is having a perfect figure a necessity in Bollywood?
The first sentence amuses me! I remember undergoing a procedure for breast implants; I do not remember doing liposuction. I’d have to have extra fat in my body for that! To answer the question, not all the leading ladies in the industry have the ‘perfect’ figure — which is self-explanatory about its significance.
You’re quite active on Twitter…
I love to express myself. I feel immensely blessed to be able to connect with the youth on such digital platforms.
What can we expect from you in the near future?
Unadulterated excellence, chutzpah and brutal honesty.
