Some trends never fade; others go away only to come back stronger. Pearl Mathias looks at five trends that have made a popular comeback
Several trends are making a comeback, right from the fashion scene to jewellery and even décor. Fascinating isn’t it? The key to evolution, in any sphere is taking a little bit from the years of old and propelling it forward with a modern vision. And, no matter how far we think we’ve come or how advanced a technology we use, some old hits continue to occupy a space in our hearts and our closets. Here we’re talking about a few trends that aren’t as new-age as you may think. Take a look.
Body glitter

Popularised in the 1990s and early 2000s, the glitter trend comprised of sparkle smeared across literally every part of the body. But, whether it’s for the contours of the face or to accentuate other parts of the body, the trend is now more dazzling than it’s ever been. To take it up a notch, women are even getting full-body glitter ensembles!
Iridescent style

As futuristic as it may seem, the iridescent makeup trend is pretty old-school, but its magic dimmed for a while. However, with its re-emergence in a bolder and brighter avatar, there’s no escaping the unicorn looks, galaxy fingertips or pixie dust eyelids that are being donned by beauties the world over.
Full brows

There was a time we couldn’t go a few weeks without trimming our eyebrows, but now, women have come into their own and they’re rocking fuller brows. However this is not new. In fact, film stars from the 1950s including Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe embraced the style with grace. And we’ve recently taken to showing off our brows in their au natural element.
Half-moon manicure

French manicures have now become second rate since half-moon manicures have found a cosy space in salons across the globe. All eyes were on actress Kerry Washington’s nails as she posed at a red carpet event, drawing our attention to the pretty pattern. The style, which isn’t very loud nail art, is a throwback to the ’30s and ’40s.
Nude lips

From bold reds, violets and greens, there’s been a shift to subtler lip shades. And, the nude hue is being rocked by celebrities, fashionistas and even those who couldn’t be less in tune with the-beauty trends. We love the pale colour, which allows the rest of our makeup to make a statement or simply shines on its own.
