Event To Attend: Psychedelic rock at blueFROG
Janis Joplin rose to fame as the lead singer of the psychedelic/acid rock band Big Brother and the Holding Company, but we all know her as the popular solo artist who took the world and the rock genre by storm back in the day. With her own backing groups, the Kozmic Blues Band and the Full Tilt Boogie Band, she had an electric sound that audiences just couldn’t get enough of — and we’re still fans to this day! If you’re looking for a window to the past, visiting blueFROG is a good option as homegrown blues/rock band, Kanchan Daniel and The Beards (among the country’s most well-known bands in the genre) takes the stage. They bring other influences to their sound through the night, including the rhythm & blues, a little funk, a lot of soul and some psychedelic rock in order to form a free-flowing stream of music.
