The hottest stars of the US music scene showed up for the 53rd Grammy Awards on Sunday night as rapper Jay-Z and crooner John Legend both picked up three trophies in the early prizes. Though Eminem was leading with 10 nominations, he lost out in five early categories, but picked up one for the best rap solo performance for “You’re Not Alone”. Other early winners included Bruno Mars, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Usher, Lady Antebellum, Jeff Beck and The Black Keys and Neil Young, who picked up the first musical Grammy of his career for the best rock song for “Angry World”. Unsurprisingly the most talked about early moment was provided by Lady Gaga, who arrived at the awards ensconced in a giant egg.
