In today’s competitive world, it’s very important that one has upgraded one’s skills that help one secure a job and climb up the career ladder effectively and efficiently. Here comes the importance of banks. Banks have come up with a plethora of opportunities for all the deserving talent out there. After all, which organisation doesn’t need a pool of talent? People are the assets of the organisation, and what better than the talented ones!

So here’s comprehensive information to understand everything one needs to know about the various job opportunities in the banking industry.

Most of the bank exams consist of 3 stages:

1)    Preliminary exam
2)    Main exam
3)    Group Discussion and Personal Interview

We suggest that the test takers follow a structured approach. Break up your entire preparation plan in 5 stages:
1.    Choose the medium of instruction for the test to be taken:
    English/Hindi. It matters.

2.    Know all the possible bank exams.

3.    Have knowledge of all the areas where questions are asked from in the bank exams; viz:
    a.    Quantitative Aptitude / Numerical Ability,
    b.    Data Analysis and Interpretation,
    c.    Logic / Reasoning,
    d.    English Language,
    e.    General Awareness, Banking Awareness, Financial Awareness ,
    f.    Professional Knowledge (Marketing, HR, IT, Agriculture, Law, Economics, Finance,)
    g.    Essay and Letter writing,
    h.    Computer Aptitude.

Test takers need to prepare for each area. Getting the basics right is essential. Break your entire preparation plan in daily schedule. Go by the quality (not quantity) of the time spent for studying.

4.    Taking the Mocks.
This helps in increasing the score. Take online Sectional Tests and online full length Mock Tests. Do analysis of the paper on the very next day. Learn from the mistakes and move on.

5.    Preparation for the Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GDPI)
Success depends on execution. Planning alone is not sufficient.  Finally, let us look at some test-taking tips for maximising your scores during tests. There will always be a certain number of direct or simple questions in all sections that are easy and doable, and identifying and cracking such questions is a major part of the challenge.

Test Taking Strategy
(Prelims & Mains):

Topic wise approach:
1.    Quantitative / Numerical ability / Data Interpretation -
Go through and solve all Quant questions first before solving data interpretation sets. Choose the questions to be attempted wisely.

2.    VA / RC (English ) -
Go through and solve grammar and verbal ability questions before solving RC's .

3.    Logic / Reasoning -
Go through and solve puzzles at the end.

4.    Computer Aptitude -
10 minutes is sufficient to answer the questions here.

5.    General Awareness / Banking Awareness / Financial Awareness -
Spend approximately 15 minutes to read and answer maximum number of questions.

6.    Essay and Letter writing -
Write up should be well organised and coherent. Merely having ideas is not sufficient. Expressing the ideas effectively is important.
