Want to pursue a Masters in Design in Italy
I am preparing a list of universities to apply to in the US after 12th. Besides rankings, what should I consider?
—Rakesh
There are several factors to consider, which you should weigh based on your own unique priorities. The location of colleges will determine the weather, but may also improve your employability if you are in a hub for your industry (e.g. Texas is where most of the Oil and Gas companies are headquartered). The size of the colleges is another thing to look at: larger colleges tend to have larger class sizes, which can mean less interaction with professors. However, large colleges have the advantage of having a more diverse and international student body. If you have a strong passion for something, take into account which universities have student clubs where you can build upon that interest.
I would like to pursue my Masters in Design from Italy. I would like to know the institutes that I could apply to and the duration of the available courses.
—Dhwani
The Florence Institute of Design International, Florence Design Academy, Academia Italiana, Scuola Politecnica di Design, Domus Academy Milan and the University of Portsmouth are some of the reputed universities in Italy offering Masters in Interior Design. The duration for the Masters in Design course is one year for all the colleges except Domus Academy Milan whose course duration is not exactly for 12 months. It could range from 11-15 months. The University of Portsmouth also offers a part time course which is of 2 year duration in case you wish to opt for part time courses. The above universities usually have a September or January intake. The entry requirement for the above universities is an eligible Bachelor degree and the IELTS score. The entry requirements for the different universities would be different for the different universities. The information on entry requirements would be available on the respective university websites.
I want to pursue my undergraduate degree in Psychology in the UK. Which universities am I eligible to apply to with a predicted ISC score of 85%?
—Megan
You are eligible to apply to Universities like Cardiff, York University, Bristol University, Durham University, Sheffield University and Nottingham University to name a few. Apart from the academic eligibility requirement for the ISC score, these universities also evaluate the grade tenth score. They would normally accept a score of more than 80% in grade tenth. You are also required to apply for IELTS/TOEFL prior to submitting the application. You would have to meet the respective universities score requirement in the test. For instance Sheffield University requires an IELTS score of 7 with no less than 6.5 in any of their components while Durham University accepts a score of 6.5 with no less than 6 in any of the elements.
