Want to study Cancer research abroad
My daughter is in class X and she wants to pursue her career in Cancer Research. Could you please suggest a list of courses that she could apply to overseas?
—Amarjeet
Hi Amarjeet, in order for your daughter to pursue cancer research in an university in the UK, she will have to take the science stream in Grades 11 and 12. In the US, she can pursue a Liberal Arts degree in Biological Sciences, where she could specialize in cancer research/cancer biology. In the UK, she will be specializing in cancer biology from the very beginning and will have very little flexibility if at all within her study. You can look at liberal arts programs in the US in colleges like the University of Illinois and Johns Hopkins University and the University of Bristol and UCL in the UK.
I have completed BE (Mechanical) and I have 16 months of experience in techno-commercial field. I am planning to go for a MBA in finance or operations next January. Could you please suggest some US universities that provide one year full time MBA?

In the United States, the MBA is a more common form of a postgraduate business degree. An MBA is typically two years long, and you have the opportunity to explore a wide array of interests and career options. You will need at least three years of solid work experience, and to be eligible for applying to the top business schools, you will need a GMAT score of at least 700. An MBA is goal oriented because you have solid work experience and look to specialize or make a switch in your career. Students pursuing an MBA use the opportunity to travel, intern and network. The number of schools that offer a 1 year program are increasing. The highest ranked U.S. school with a one-year program is Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, which started its program in 1964. The only other top 20 business schools with one-year options are Cornell University’s Johnson School and Emory University’s Goizueta. Outside of the top 20 in the U.S., there are a number of very good one-year options at such prominent schools as Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business, Babson College, and the University of Pittsburgh’s Katz School. The University of Southern California’s Marshall School has a one-year MBA with an international business consulting project open to candidates with more work experience than is typical for such programs.
