A civil services guidance seminar for young aspirants was organized by Vivekanand Education Society in Collaboration with Delhi-based Chanakya IAS Academy on December 22. The seminar witnessed an overwhelming response from the student fraternity.
The seminar was organized to dwell at length on creating a resource pool of young and talented civil services professionals and encourage students to become IAS officers by opting for civil services. Mr. A.K.Mishra, Director, Chanakya Academy stated that IAS was an attractive career option and also provided the valuable opportunity to engage in community service and initiate social changes. He further stated that in order to become successful and committed IAS officers, aspirants needed to come out of their comfort zones and imbibe out of the box thinking. A survivor instinct, problem solving attitude, decision making power, leadership skills, emotional IQ, crisis management and clear thinking formed the core personality traits of a successful IAS professional.
Plans are in progress to make VES the main examination centre in Maharashtra for the conducting of IAS exams. 108 students from VES will be chosen for coaching of IAS exam. Out of this, 10 students will get 100% scholarship, 8 students will get 75% and 90 students will get 25%.
