Team R-Factor, a team of 25 young, motivated tech-savvy students from nine schools across Mumbai have officially selected for representing India at the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) World Championship at Houston, United States on April 18-21. The World Championship will be marked by participation from around 500 teams who will attempt to create new excellence benchmarks and establish new records in STEM and Robotics.

Recently the team won the most prestigious award at FIRST that took place in Sydney last month. The team also won the Best Team Safety Award given to the team that demonstrates implementation of the best safety protocols and procedures, and encourages other teams to also follow suit and ensures everyone is safety aware while working on the robot.

“Recognizing the power of technology as an empowering tool for transforming lives has motivated us to pursue robotics. Unique endeavors like FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) are instrumental in creating a conducive environment for encouraging students to increasingly participate in scientific research and development,” stated Meenal Majumder, Mentor, Team R-Factor.

The young team of 13 to 15-year old students qualified for the prestigious robotics championship in the US after dominating the FIRST regional championship in Sydney.
