SCI FI fans, this one is for you and it tops the cards when compared to any other Star Wars flicks, when it comes to the mighty spacecrafts, the space stations, the design, and of course the storytelling, it all rolls up to one spectacular production. ‘Rogue One’ rests itself with a storyline that dates back to a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, farer from the Star Wars we have come to know.

The Galactic Empire is nearing the completion of their grand weapon, the Death Star, a space station capable of causing massive planetary destruction and putting an end to the Rebellion. When the work suddenly stalls, project manager Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn) requires the help of former chief scientist Galen Erso (Mads Mikkelson) to finish the job. Unable to resist the will of the Empire, Galen is forced to comply. Job done, Galen leaves only to be hounded again when the Rebellion hears of a defecting Imperial pilot (Riz Ahmed) carrying a secret message from Galen. Galen is nowhere to be found.

The Rebellion must find his estranged daughter Jyn (Felicity Jones) in order to find this pilot and confirm the message from her father. Partnered with spy Cassian (Diego Luna), his reprogrammed droid K-2SO (Alan Tudyk), and former Jedi Temple guardian a blind Jedi (Donnie Yen) and Baze Malbus (Wen Jiang), Jyn learns that her father secretly left a fatal flaw within the Death Star. To get everything right, she has to get the plans of the Death Star and get them in the hands of Rebellion if there is to be any hope for peace and tranquility in the galaxy. But that won’t be easy.

The night visuals are a bit hazy at times, but the gloss of color appears in the laser fire attacks with each space ship. The audio is impeccable on a 5.1 home theatre. The Stars Wars theme, to the booms and blasts from the speakers, is a treat.
