CAST :

DIRECTOR: Andrew Fleming

Nancy Drew is a detective character created by author Carolyn Keene. Teenagers the world over have loved reading the sleuth’s popular mystery novels in over hundreds of books.

Nancy Drew is played by Emma Roberts who at the insistence of her widowed father Carson Drew (Tate Donovan) takes a short break and rents a house in Los Angeles, where Carson has a temporary job offer. Carson also hopes that this break will keep his daughter from her detective work. In typical Drew fashion, Nancy comes to know that the house they are living in, is the home of Hollywood movie star Dehlia Draycott, who was murdered and whose case has never been solved. Her enormous inheritance hangs in balance.

Despite trying to focus on her new school environment, Nancy’s mind is wandering on this mystery. She befriends Corky (Josh Flitter) and with his help she hopes to solve the Draycott murder. Nancy searches the Draycott mansion and discovers a letter that Draycott wrote to an unknown ‘Z,’ who was supposedly Draycott’s love interest. From photographs of Draycott before her death, she realises that just before her death, Draycott bore a child and gave it up for adoption. She learns that the child, Jane (Rachael Leigh Cook) is the sole beneficiary of Draycott’s will, has mysteriously disappeared and so has the will. Nancy receives a threatening phone call telling her to get off the case. She contacts her father’s business associate Dashiel Biedermeyer (Barry Bostwick) the lawyer of the Draycott estate, to assist her with the case.

Amidst all this sleuthing comes a bit of romance, with her long-time boyfriend, Ned (Max Thieriot) who helps her on the case. Along with Corky and Ned, Nancy spends hours unraveling the mystery that leads them to underground passages, bomb threats, getting drugged, abduction and a near death trap. Watch how Nancy unravels the mystery.
