Actress Parineeti Chopra, we hear, is undergoing strenuous training in order to essay the role of Saina Nehwal in the upcoming biopic about the badminton star. Parineeti had replaced the original actress in the film, Shraddha Kapoor, who had to opt out due to health reasons. Directed by Amole Gupte, the film tentatively titled ‘Saina’ is to commence shooting in October. In the meantime Ms Chopra is fortifying her badminton skills in intense sports training sessions. Some days ago, the actress tweeted on her social media handle: “Hi everyone, we have NOT started the shoot of #Saina yet. I am still learning how to play Badminton! We will start in October once I get better at it!! 4 MONTHS TO GO!#Saina @TSeries.” She then posted images of herself in training and one image showed her lying on the court floor in the foetal position, looking exhausted with a badminton racquet next to her. Subsequently Saina herself wrote in to encourage Parineeti with the words: “Looking forward to play with you Parineeti Chopra. You are really working hard for the Saina Nehwal biopic!” To which Ms Chopra replied: “Whyyy do you play so well!! Scaring mee!” We certainly agree that this system of method training, practised by well-known actors, where they literally get under the skins of the subjects they are essaying, works out very well most of the times. Though we have no doubt that it takes a lot out of an actor to attempt something like this. Way to go, girl!
