Everyone from Sridevi’s fans to her family and media members display patience

Veteran actor Sridevi's body was not released yesterday as the requisite documents to begin repatriation of the body were still to be sanctioned.
According to Khaleej Times, Dubai police is conducting an ongoing probe at the place of death, and is questioning Sridevi's husband Boney Kapoor, the hotel staff, and others present at the time of death. Earlier in the day, Dubai Police confirmed that the cause of Sridevi's death was 'accidental drowning'.

Reports earlier stated that the cause of her death was a cardiac arrest. However, as per medical reports, it has now been confirmed that drowning was the cause that led to her death.

As per the latest medical reports released, traces of alcohol have been found in her blood.

The matter has now been transferred to Dubai Public Prosecution, which will carry out regular legal procedures followed in such cases, according to a tweet shared by Dubai media office on its official Twitter handle. After the embalming process, followed by death certificate, cancellation of her passport, permission from the public prosecutor, the body will be flown back to Mumbai.

The body could not be repatriated on Sunday as the final investigation reports from Dubai Police were not ready. The remains would reportedly be brought back onboard a chartered aircraft. A prayer meeting is expected to take place today at the Boat Club in Mumbai

Sridevi, a Padma Shri awardee, made her Bollywood debut in 1978 with Solva Sawan. Iconic actress Sridevi breathed her last  late on Saturday night in Dubai. The never ageing Bollywood starlet was in Dubai with her producer husband Boney Kapoor and younger daughter Khushi to attend to her nephew Mohit Marwah's wedding.

Sources confirmed that Boney went to Dubai to 'surprise' her with dinner, later he woke her around 5.30 pm and the couple chatted for around 15 minutes. Preliminary reports seemed to suggest that the Chandni star suffered a cardiac arrest and was discovered 15 minutes later lying motionless in the bathtub by her partner, who even tried to wake her up several times. A helpless Boney called up his friend and later informed the police.

Superstar Rajinikanth arrived at Mumbai on Monday to pay last respects to the first female superstar of Indian Cinema. Many celebrities from the Bollywood including Farhan Akhtar, Madhuri Dixit along with her husband Sriram Nene, Sara Ali Khan, Genelia Deshmukh, Nagma, Ameesha Patel and politicians including Amar Singh, Jaya Prada, Farah Khan, Tabu and many more arrived at Anil Kapoor's residence to stand beside Janhvi – Sridevi's elder daughter.

Thousands of fans gathered patiently outside the residence of the legendary actress at Andheri in a hope to get the last glimpse of their beloved actress.
According to sources, Amitabh Bachchan’s '102 Not Out' song shoot was cancelled as a mark of respect to Sridevi’s demise.

A statement from YRF was released relating to Rani Mukerji's next Hichki.

It read, "In light of Sridevi Kapoor's untimely demise, we are deferring the Hichki Imagica song launch activity. We will update an alternate date and time for the same."

Even Shabana Azmi announced on twitter about the cancellation of the Holi party  "Our Holi party at Janki Kurir stands cancelled on 2nd March in the wake of Sridevi's passing away." Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela, cancelled her birthday bash to pay tribute to the veteran star Sridevi.

February 25 was Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor's birthday too. While the actor thanked all his fans for wishing him,  he also requested them to remember the veteran actress on such a tragic day by tweeting a heartfelt message, he wrote “Want to sincerely thank you all for your wishes. But today is the day to remember Srideviji. To remember her for her brilliance and the magic she brought into our lives. All our love and wishes must be for her today. May she rest in peace.”
