
4-year-old girl tossed out of moving train following scuffle for seats
The rally at Chaityabhoomi for Dr B.R. Ambedkar’s 54th death anniversary seemed to end well for over 12 lakh followers who came to the city on Monday, except for the Jamdade family, whose four-year-old daughter was allegedly thrown out of a moving train by a 19-year-old youth.
This unusual incident occurred on early Tuesday morning around 5.45 am between Vidhyavihar and Ghatkopar railway stations, when Sameer Jamdade (33), the father of the victim and the accused, identified as Chhotu Sharma, had a petty scuffle for seating space inside the bogie of the Bhusaval Passenger train.
“There was an exchange of blows, during which Sharma lifted the victim, Sadhana from her mother’s lap and chucked her out of the moving train,” said senior inspector Dilip Gore of the Government Railway Police (GRP).
Enraged on seeing this horrendous act by Sharma, the passengers in the train along with Jamdade family members pounced on the accused, even as Sunil Jamdade (38), the uncle of the victim, pulled the emergency chain to stop the train.
