While MHADA launched registration for flats to be sold by public lottery for Konkan and Nagpur region on Wednesday, the beneficiary in affordable housing schemes, seems to be Higher Income Group(HIG) instead of Economically Weaker Section(EWS).
At Mira Road (EWS) has been offered a flat admeasuring 18 Square mtrs for Rs.18,46,51/- Whereas in the same area a flat admeasuring 34.90 Square mtrs has been offered for just Rs.19,13,405/-. The difference is just around Rs 67,000/- in the price of both flats, whereas there is a sizable difference in the area of both the flats.
According to MHADA officials, some of the flats at Mira Road pertain to old scheme and since they had remained unsold they have been included in the existing lottery. Besides it was also essential that these flats belonging to old scheme are sold under HIG category.
Similarly at Mira Road under Middle Income Group (MIG) two flats under sheme code 58 (02): (Carpet Area: 19.31sq.m) are offered for Rs.7,33,549/-, whereas one flat in the same area, under scheme code 83 (02) (carpet area: 19.31sq.m) is offered for Price: Rs.8,76,296/-.
Basically as per MHADA rules there should be a parity between income category and the area of the flats.
In the meanwhile Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis launched the process of online registration for MHADA flats in Nagpur and Konkan at a function organised at his official residence “Ramgiri” in Nagpur, in presence of Housing Minister Prakash Mehta, Minister of State for Housing Ravindra Waikar, Additional CS (Housing) Sanjay Kumar and MHADA VP Milind Mhaiskar on Wednesday.
The CM launched the registration process for Nagpur( 1514 flats) and Konkan (9018 flats). The flats offered by Nagpur division of MHADA include: EWS (1347 flats) located at Vanjra, New Chandrapur, Belartodi-Nagpur, Chikhali-Devasthan, Pimpalgaon, Hinganghat (Wardha) and Dabha. LIG(77 flats) located at Vanjra, Dabha. MIG (90 flats) located at New Chandrapur and Chikhali Devasthan, Nagpur. The flats offered in Konkan region also include 3937 flats under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY)
The computerised draw of lottery will be conducted at MHADA headquarters at Bandra East) on 19 August, 2018. The registrations will be allowed on htpps://lottery.mhada.gov.in. The registrations will be accepted till 8 August (till 11.59 PM). The applications (online) will be accepted till 9 August(till 11.59 PM). The payment of earnest money/application fee -Till 6 PM, till 10 August. The earnest money can be paid by NEFT/RGTS/debit/credit card.
The income limit for different groups is: EWS- The average monthly income of husband and wife for the period first April 2017 to 31 st March 2018 should not be more than Rs 25,000/-. LIG: The average monthly income of husband and wife for the period first April 2017 to 31 st March 2018 should be between Rs 25,001/- and Rs.50,000/- MIG: The average monthly income of husband and wife for the period first April 2017 to 31st March 2018 should be between Rs. 51,000/- and Rs.75,000/- HIG: The average monthly income of husband and wife for the period first April 2017 to 31 st March 2018 should be Rs. 75,001/- and above.
