Charming couple Devika and Dr. Altaf Patel know how to throw a terrific party. They do so every January, just before the Republic Day and, if you are invited, do make sure you make it to their residence, for you know for sure that you would have the time of your life. Such was the case this time around too, with guests dropping by at their convenient timing, some staying for long, others rushing out for some other function or dinner appointment. Actually, those who left early missed out on a delightful biryani dinner, nice and spicy alright. Of course, there was a wide selection of hors d’oeuvres, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian, to satiate all palates and preferences. And, need one add, the bar was bursting with the choicest spirits, wines and beer. Happy guests included Kamal Morarka, Vijay Kalantri, Zena and Khalid Ansari, Kanta Masand and Colonel Manish Masand, Dr. Tarang Gianchandani, Sabira Merchant, Penaz Masani and Ayaz Memon. Good cheer, conversation and camaraderie – that’s what the night was all about.
