With independent candidate, Nandkishore Patil, withdrawing his nomination, by-elections to ward number 45, in the Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC), is all set to witness a triangular contest between the Congress, Shiv Sena and Maharshtra Navnirman Sena (MNS). A former NCP leader, Patil, who had filed his nomination as an independent, opted out of the race, last week.
Interestingly, all the three remaining contestants in fray – Sandhya Patil (Shiv Sena), Sushant Patil (MNS) and Gunwant Patil (Congress) have switched their loyalties to a different party on the eve of elections.
