Maruti launches WagonR limited edition
Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) yesterday said it has launched a limited edition of its compact hatchback WagonR, which comes with two optional accessories kits, priced at Rs 15,490 and Rs 25,490, respectively. WagonR Limited Edition comes with various added features including reverse parking sensors. "WagonR customers have always valued substance and style; with this limited edition we intend to make this festive season even more wonderful for them," MSI Senior Executive Director (M&S) RS Kalsi said. The company expects that this new limited edition will bring in freshness to the product and excite the customers across India, he added. WagonR continues to be among the country's top five selling cars.
Average spot power price rises to Rs4.69/unit in Sep
Average spot power price surged 41 per cent in September to Rs 4.69 per unit as compared to Rs 3.34 per unit in August this year at Indian Energy Exchange (IEX), mainly due to higher demand, coal shortage and lower wind as well as hydro power generation. "The average Market Clearing Price (MCP) at Rs 4.69 per unit registered 41 per cent increase over 3.34 per unit price in August 2018 and 15 per cent increase over Rs 4.09 per unit in same month (September) last year," Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) said.

Oil stocks plunge up to 25%
Shares of oil marketing companies yesterday fell over 25 per cent as the government announced Rs 2.50 per litre cut in petrol and diesel prices. On the BSE, shares of Hindustan Petroleum Corp Ltd (HPCL) tanked 25.18 per cent to end at Rs 165.05 and Bharat Petroleum Corp eased by 21.11 per cent to Rs 265.35. Besides, Indian Oil Corp (IOC) tumbled 16.19 per cent to Rs 118.05 and Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) lost 15.93 per cent to close at Rs 146.95. ONGC was also the biggest loser on the 30-share index.
Rosneft slams Indian taxation system, calls it hurdle
Russian oil firm Rosneft, the biggest foreign investor in India's energy sector, yesterday criticised taxation policy in the country saying it was a major hurdle in its expansion plans. Rosneft and its partners had in August last year completed a USD 12.9-billion acquisition of Essar Oil to enter the world's fastest-growing energy market, but have to pay a 20 per cent withholding tax even after paying corporate tax and dividend, the Russian firm's First Vice President for Economics and Finance, Pavel Fedorov said. The Indian market's potential is unparalleled and "that's why we love to invest in India," he said.
Cochin Shipyard inks pact with Russia's USC to boost water transport
Cochin Shipyard has inked a pact with Russian firm United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) to boost water transportation in India, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said yesterday. Calling on Russian investors to tap the vast opportunities in India's infrastructure space, Gadkari said India has huge potential and appetite for innovation in the field. The water resources minister was addressing the India-Russia Business Summit. As per the MoU between the two entities, USC will engage in development of the stateof-the-art vessels for inland and coastal waterways in the country.
