Canara Bank Arm Seeks Sebi Nod To Raise Rs 300 Cr
Can Fin Homes has sought capital market regulator Sebi's approval to raise up to Rs 300 crore through a Rights Issue to shore up its capital base. Shares are issued to existing investors based on their holdings at a pre-determined price and ratio. Can Fin Homes, promoted by Canara Bank, would issue equity shares for an aggregate amount of up to Rs 300 crore on a rights basis to its shareholders, as per a draft letter filed by the firm with Securities and Exchange Board of India.

IEX Clocks Highest Electricity Trading Volume
The volume of electricity traded on the Indian Energy Exchange touched a high of 125 million units on Monday, spurred by rising demand for power. With demand outstripping supply, the price of electricity traded yesterday rose to Rs 5.29 per unit. According to the bourse, the volume of electricity traded was the "highest ever" at 125 million units on Monday and this power was to be delivered yesterday. "This achievement surpasses the last highest traded volume of 117 MUs which was traded on September 8, 2013," IEX said in a statement.
UltraTech Eyes Jaypee’s Cement Plants In MP
Aditya Birla group firm Ultratech Cement is believed to be looking at possible acquisition of Jaypee Group's three cement plants in Madhya Pradesh in a deal that could be worth about Rs 5,500-6,000 crore. While investment banking sources involved in the talks said that the discussions are currently under way for a possible deal, a spokesperson for UltraTech declined to comment on queries in this regard.

Competition Commission has cleared L&T Technology Services' proposed acquisition of IT company Dell International Services India certain assets related to engineering services business. According to the fair trade regulator the proposed deal does not raise anti-competition concerns in the country. L&T Technology Services had entered into an 'Asset Purchase Agreement' with Dell International on July 22, 2014 to acquire certain assets and liabilities of the latter related to the business of providing engineering services.
Textiles Min To Launch Pashmina Promotion Prog Today
Union Textiles Minister Santosh Gangwar will launch the Pashmina Promotion Programme (P 3) and lay the foundation stone of a Pashmina Dehairing Plant at Leh, Ladakh today, seeking to develop crafts of J&K. Under P-3, a major provision has been made for the establishment of latest technology imported Pashmina Dehairing Plant at Leh with a total grant of Rs 19.35 crore including other machineries like Scouring, Drying, and boiler along with construction of building for installation of these machineries at Leh.
