WTC Mumbai and AIAI Conduct Forum In Geneva
The World Trade Centre Mumbai and All India Association of Industries recently conducted a session at the WTO Public Forum 2014, Geneva  on "Fostering Skills and Jobs through Trade Liberalisation  in Developing Economies' . The session was attended by over 200 delegates from various countries. Various speakers like  Rajesh Aggarwal, Director of the Division of Business & Institutional support and  Chief, Business & Trade Facilitation Section, International Trade Centre (ITC), Geneva, Switzerland, Prof. Joseph Francois, Professor of International Economics, University of Bern, Managing Director (incoming), World Trade Institute, Bern, Switzerland,  Ms. Azita Berar Awad, Director, Employment Policy Department, International Labour Organisation (ILO), Geneva, Switzerland,  Vijay Kalantri, Vice Chairman, World Trade Centre  Mumbai, Director - WTCA Board, New York, President, All India Association of Industries,  Ricardo Melendez- Ortiz, CEO, International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development (ICTSD), Geneva Switzerland and  Ken Ash, Director for Trade and Agriculture, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Paris, France were present at the summit

Aditya Birla Group’s ‘Bid to Build’ J&K
An online auction that coincides with the Joy of Giving week,has been initiated by the Aditya Birla Group, to help rebuild Jammu and Kashmir  after the recent floods that wrecked the state and rendered many homeless. Through this auction, the Aditya Birla Group aims to raise funds for those affected, and help rebuild their homes and lives. The auction 'J&K Bid to Build' will be held on StoryLTD, a service of auction house Saffronart, from October 8–9. Bidding on lots will begin at 7:00 p.m. on October 8 at www.storyltd.com.

Godrej Announces Affordable Housing Project In Badlapur
Godrej Properties, the real estate development arm of the Godrej Group, has entered into a Development Management Agreement to develop a property situated in Badlapur, Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).The project will offer approximately 0.12 million square meters (1.3 million sq. ft.) of saleable area. It will be developed as an affordable housing project. Says Pirojsha Godrej, Managing Director & CEO, Godrej Properties,s “We are happy to add this new project in Badlapur, which strengthens our development portfolio in Mumbai. We will seek to ensure that this project delivers an outstanding lifestyle for all its residents.”

Lanxess Bags Award From Indian Chemical Council
Lanxess India, acknowledged for its exceptional work in the area of water resource management has bagged an award for Water Resource Management in Chemical Industry. was handed over to Namitesh Roy Choudhary, Vice Presidentt and Subhat Kumar Jindal, General Manager, Lanxess India at the hands of Ananth Kumar, Minister for Chemicals & Fertilizers, and Padma Vibhushan Dr. Anil Kakodkar, Former Chairman, Atomic Energy Commission of India in the presence of other dignitaries from the chemical industry.

Lijjat Papad Appoints Office Bearers
The Managing Committee Meeting of Shri Mahila Griha Udyog Lijjat Papad which was held on 1st October 2014 appointed the following office bearers for the year 2014-15. Swati R. Nearly 9.87 Lakh Companies Active In India
India might have more than 14 lakh registered companies but only about 9.87 lakh entities were active at the end of August, according to official data. Out of the total registered companies, nearly 2.60 lakh have been closed down while thousands of entities are in the process of winding up.
