Ramanan Subramani,  Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, Spoors Technologies

Ramanan Subramani is the Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, and the chief spokesperson of Spoors Technologies. He is a polymath and comes with 16-plus years of experience in both technology and marketing/communications. He holds a bachelor’s in physics and a master’s in computer application. He also has a postgraduate diploma in Intellectual Property Rights, and holds a certificate in Design Thinking and Innovations (Distinction) from MIT Sloan. In conversation with ADC, Ramanan reveals his company's ultimate goal of making their  software an intelligent workflow option for enterprises of all sizes.

What is the USP of Spoors Technologies?
The team at Spoors believes in maximizing field productivity through intelligent allocation and management of on field activities. The flagship product, EFFORT+ is short for Effortless Field Force Optimization and Reporting Toolkit. It is a comprehensive, flexible, domain-agnostic, and versatile software that lets users manage even the most complex field activities at any time of the day. The flexibility of the product added to its domain-agnostic nature makes it a perfect fit for any process, any domain and any scale. Costs are also customized on the basis of the number of users a client would want onboard. EFFORT+ allows for configuration, deployment, re-configuration and re-deployment of forms and workflows rapidly. The solution can work in an offline mode (without internet connectivity) and is offered in numerous vernacular languages to enable usage across the world. As a corporate citizen, Spoors is also on a mission to digitize almost all pen and paper based data accrual functions for clients across the globe irrespective of their scale and complexity. Also, EFFORT+ facilitates instant updates and cloud storage, which eliminates the possibility of data being misplaced.

What is your vision for the company?
Spoors’ vision is to be a one-stop shop for enterprises aiming to build a futuristic and mobile workforce and to become the enterprise workflow/activity management partner for businesses across all domains.

What are your expansion plans?
In 2017, Spoors primarily plans to focus on brand building and communication strategies to draw potential customers and investors. We aim to de-clutter the market with clear communication strategies to build the brand and therefore the market base. We also plan to scale EFFORT+ to the next level by building innovative and futuristic solutions using data and analytics. Within a few years of setting shop in India; Spoors has established a presence in Africa, Singapore, Europe and the rest of APAC (through MOUs and channel partners). We intend to expand our client base in these countries and overall, scale it up by 100%.

Tell us about your clientele and the work undertaken?
Currently we have established our presence in five countries. Our roster of 120+ clients includes marquee customers like Airtel, Mahindra Finance, Reliance, MedPlus and many others. We also take pride in the fact that we have a 100% conversion rate from a prospective client using the trial version getting converted to a paid user! Most large and medium enterprises seek a single application interface to collect data but want this data to be distributed across multiple legacy systems. We have succeeded in building a single interface that collects data and can be disseminated to multiple solutions like ERP, CRM, HRMS, Finance, etc. We have also brought in the highest standards of quality into field management services ratifying the data captured with Geo-Time-Date stamp along with rich media like pictures, video/audio and signatures.

Where do you see yourself five years down the road?
At Spoors, we set our sights high and within the next five years we hope to build a significant base in 15 plus countries and to become the Go-To Enterprise Activity Management solution for any domain. We also hope to establish physical offices across the world in the immediate future, staff the teams locally and roll out personalized services to cater to the local demand.
