Makarand Patil, Founder, My OmNamo
Makarand Patil is the Founder of My OmNamo, a platform started in 2017 to solve problems by synergizing the spiritual and professional world. This spiritual mobile app, is now ensuring expats from UK, UAE and Malaysia get to celebrate the coming Ganesh Festival in traditional style with the right rituals and puja samagri.
In conversation with Dominic Rebello, Makarand says the main idea behind launching My Omnamo app is to provide all the Pooja related solutions to the working crowd via a single click on the mobile phone.
What is the idea behind My OmNamo?
In the current hectic lifestyle, It is very difficult for the working masses to arrange for daily Pooja or any Pooja for that matter as it requires lot of co-ordination and people these days simply don’t have time for it. Main idea behind launching My Omnamo app is to provide all the Pooja related solutions to the working crowd via a single click on the mobile phone. The app provides patrons flexibility to conduct pujas at home, temple, office, factory or any other convenient location, in a hassle free manner.
How are you different from others?
We differ from other online platforms by the number of unique services on offer. We offer easy, convenient, secure and hassle free services like Online Pandit Booking, Online darshan queue booking, Pooja Arrangement, Brahman Bhoj, Online Bhajan / Kirtan / Dhol Booking, E- store for pooja material, Virtual services, Vastu Consultancy, Jyotish Consultancy, Shradh services, Temple locator, Astrology, Pushpanjali, Yoga / Meditation Centre. We have already partnered with 2000+ Pandits and major pooja material vendors and almost all top temples have already tied up with OmNamo for queue ticket booking service and provide International Services as well which makes us different from others. Another feature, that offers convenience and reaches to more number of families in India as well UAE is the fact that the app lets families select the Purohit in their own languages like Hindi, Marathi, Sanskrit, Telugu, Tamil and Gujarati.
Currently, OmNamo is in process of shipping 1000 Ganpati Idols to UAE, UK and Malaysia. Artists from Mumbai and surrounding areas have created the Ganesh murtis and eco-friendly Makhars. People can book these murtis and makhars on the My Omnamo App.
Any expansion plans?
My OmNamo has raised a funding of $1 million from a group of high net worth individuals from UAE, which will be used to strengthen its management team, and expand its services in the market. Currently services are available in India, UAE, Canada, UK and Malaysia. Ambitious plans to offer services in USA, Oman, Singapore and many more countries by the end of the year with the help the funding received.
Your vision for the company?
We are focused in encouraging the 'Bachat Gat Ladies' to develop their confidence and to make them economically self-sufficient through their sheer hardwork. We are not focusing on maximization of profits but also looking at it as an initiative to bring about social change. My OmNamo strives to cater to the needs of a devotee through online as well as offline spiritual services and cherish the spiritual ethos of Indian culture and tradition.
Where do you see yourself five years down the road?
My OmNamo plans to establish their services to different countries like USA, UK, Singapore, Malaysia, and Oman. Also OmNamo portal shall offer all services in various local languages to make it easier and useful for everyone.
We aims to bridge the gap across India and Overseas by efficiently providing spiritual services to more countries around the world in the near future, to envision its mantra, ‘Spirituality on Digital Platform’, in tandem with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of Digital India to transform India through the power of technology.
