'Sold Out Skyline' by Nanda Das at Tao

Thursday, January 16, 2014

Nanda Das: “It was flying at 35,000 feet, I fell in love with the sky. I wanted this sky to be a part of my sky on earth. I wanted the sky that vertical Mumbai is stealing away from me by erecting new skyscrapers. My paintings try to reclaim the sky. I want to bring back the sky to our earth”.

As a photorealist painter, the artist's work begins with aphotograph; in the painting, he creates images of his own world. The borderline between reality and imagination is seen in the painting. He combines photography and art.
