‘Once upon a time there was a tiger’ by Rameshwar Singh

The tiger is there in all the compositions. It does make its presence felt – but not in a big way. Actually in some of the paintings, our attention is first drawn towards figurative images – mostly that of a woman. And each painting is crowded with symbols. Maybe the tiger itself is one of the conspicuous symbol. There is a woman with big eyes – they are by no means ‘meenakshi’. The eyeball has different colours – blue, green and sometimes white. Maybe the big eye and its colour tells a tale. The woman is amply endowed – we see only the torso. And there are faint images of the tiger on the breasts.
The whole composition is crowded with symbols – animals and birds. And in one of the composition, there is a clock time: 11.12.
Rameshwar Singh’s woman has a beautiful face.
The painting is highly visually satisfying. The arrangements in the competition are excellent. There are so many images but yet there is no crowding. Most of the paintings have bright colours which bring out emotions in the onlooker.
