Shruti Pethani is at an intersection as she proceeds in her art journey. She does not know where she belongs. Her future, she feels, is unpredictable. Her path is unknown. She is at an intersection. There is however a firm urge in her to be free. “As life has different stages, my paintings have different layers,” she explains the intriguing images on her canvas. The layers interact and create a new visual. The layers that are seen are different thoughts. What you desire comes your way but something unexpected crosses it. Journey is important and not the destination. “My work is the reflection of what is going on around me. The colours I have used are inspired by nature.”
There are different paths criss-crossing each other and finally a new path is dimly seen. The contrast in colours indicate the division. There is mystery there and a certain uncertainty which is creatively disturbing. She is moving ahead on a nowhere direction. It is clear the artist is in the throes of creation. It is the energy that proceeds from inner conflict that makes Shruti’s paintings take on multiple dimensions.
