There will be some splendid creations by Parag Borse at the Jehangir Art Gallery exhibition from tomorrow. The artist appears to have evolved a style of his own: Mostly realistic, it has some nowhere dimensions. And it is all there – on the face. The face of the woman, the darkish brown face with some lines is just fascinating. The mouth that is slightly open reveals the pain. What Parag does is to create an unusual face and torso and then cover it all up with glorious colours: the paintings with yellow and red indicates an assertive, aggressive stance. There is elaborate work in each of the paintings. It is all done – with total control over brush.
Parag Borse says he was transferred into a mirror while making his paintings. “On its own, the mirror speaks nothing. Favouring none it is impartial. It neither adds to nor substracts from anything that is in front of it. It is content with its blissful ignorance. When I make a painting, I turn into a mirror”.
