
SHANKAR GHOSH, Swagata Bose, are holding a joint exhibition at the Artists Centre. Shankar Ghosh is a versatile creative sculptor with an enriched visual language of expression. His work illustrates the relevant inspiration received by him from vivid facets of environment, their human forms and their different shapes. The variety of sculpture reveal monumental quality that truly demonstrate class interactions with art forms as an emotional plane which are far beyond the materialistic world and reality of daily existence. Aesthetic design, superb craftsmanship, high-level skills and command over the medium find due and prominent place in his works. Paintings like ‘Dancers’, ‘Mother and Child’, ‘Elegance’, ‘Couple’, ‘Hair do’ are some of the high-caliber works at the exhibition.
Swagata Bose uses oil, acrylic and mix media. Behind her works is a skilled brush. Some of the landscapes she has done are well visualised and painted. She should stop painting Mother Teresa and Amitabh Bachchan and other Bollywood folks.
