Mansoori’s kingdom of animals, objects

Wednesday, October 05, 2011

There is a touch of the surreal in Nabibaksh’s paintings. The artist looks at the world through the Kaleidoscope of colour, skewed and layered imagery. Mansoori who grew up in a small village has memories of roaming by the rivulet – in the hills and farms.

An element that is of interest in Mansoori’s paintings is the use of multiple points of focus. This is a deliberate choice of the artist… His painted world is a busy whirring with people, their dreams and their thousands desires. But most of all, this is a kingdom of animals and objects. Mansoori lives and works in Ahmedabad.

The exhibition is at Atrium Gallery, Worli.
