Artist Vishwa Sahni is a rebel. What he has to express, he does it on the canvas. The colours he uses reveals him. Using red and black, the artist brings to life an array of emotions – by using hands as the symbol.
He uses hands in his works. He explains: “The gestures by hands have always fascinated me. Whether it is the mother-child bond, a handshake or simply a gesture, the hand truly rules the world.” Hands make, break and support verbal expressions, thoughts and feelings.
Sahni wanted to initially work on ‘mudras’ as they fascinated him, but when he began to delve into his works, ordinary hands started attracting his mind’s eye.
Whether it is a worker or an artist an actor, the hard movement of each one of them has a tale to tell. “I find hands a more fascinating subject than the eyes.
