Since the time she was a little girl, Kavita Joshi has lived in the shadow of 200-year-old historic temple of Shri Siddhivinayak. “I start invoking the blessings of Ganesha before starting any work. Only few know that Ganesha is also worshipped as God of art”.
The artist believes that Ganesha helps her do the paintings. She expresses whoever through or emotions through colour which has energised her life. She did hard painting on silk fabric – in vibrant acid dyes. She advanced with costume designing and finally, “canvas painting happened”. Since then, there was no looking back.
“Keeping the base as texture to give the alluring appeal, I venture through different shades of colours – each day passes exploring the power of colours”.
The exhibition by Kavita Joshi is at AKS art gallery. Mobile: 9833365798.
