Four young painters from Pune are holding a joint exhibition at Jehangir Art Gallery. Title: Toward Eternity. They have all started an art journey and they have maybe expressed on the canvas their first impressions. We see glimpses of Pune’s past heritage – those old world ambience which is fast disappearing. The artists are: Amruta Kulkarni, Jitendra Modhave, Prashant Patil, Yogini Deshmukh.
Jitendra Modhave has tried to give shape to dreams. Prashant Patil produces seascapes – with a realistic touch. Pune’s ancient ‘wadas’ are found in Yogini Deshmukh’s paintings. The Peshwas impact on such places in Pune is considerable. And Amruta Kulkarni paints unique faces – eyes without balls, small red months, long ears, pointed chin and faces smeared with deep colours – green, red…. She gets quite a few creative plus points. The exhibition will go on till 16th.
