Evidently he makes a deep study of people whom he wants to bring on the canvas. Then he touches them with his imagination and describes them. There are no statues in his painting. We see a movement, he make a statement.
For years now – for over 50 years – Badri Narayan has been producing top-class works of art. He used to pick up themes from myths and mythology, fables. In his hands, they became fascinating creations on his canvas.
Badri Narayan who is Inida’s one of topmost painters is now showing his paintings at the Living Room, Walton Road, Colaba Causeway. At the gallery, Badri’s interesting, unusual creations are on display. For instance, the paintings of Ganesh are just great. We see his skills, his evolved language in the paintings. They are images which nobody has ever done. It is clear Badri works in freedom.
And he uses symbols whenever he feels they add and describe a scenario. A bird, winged horse are some of the symbols he uses. The colours he uses are never loud.
And there is a bit of folk art. And that helps him to work up his imagination and get nowhere forms into his creation.
Impressions yes, but no abstracted art for Badri Narayan. Finally, each paintings of his is highly pleasing to behold. There is cent per cent aesthetics in his creations.
