The big, bright eyes – they attract you first. And then you see the beautiful faces of women – in colour, jewellery and bright costumes. The dress of women is more simple but they too have big, bright eyes.
We have some paintings by K.V. Kale – picturised folklore. Kale’s art language is splendidly, confidently, firmly realistic. And his paintings are abundantly sprinkled with aesthetics.
No wonder then sometime ago, an Irish collector came bought 50 paintings and returned home.
The exhibition by Kale is at Nehru Centre – till April 23. Chief guest: Mrs. Nina Rege, Asst Director, Nehru Art Gallery. Contact: 9449281642.
