During his college days in Kolkata, Jagannath Paul’s creativity has grown from traditional to modern Indian style of painting. Being the subject of his studies, he had acquired the dynamic pattern of designs with decorative value. Jagannath had chosen his own route of wary, linear, lyrical style to create his personal innovative art with his mastery and strength of artistic conviction.
The artist created his own imagery, by painting the rhythmic, balanced dancing bodies of ballet dancers. Slowly he zeroed in on close ups of faces because one knows the fact of life that one is easily attracted… The face has become the focal point of the artist with distinct circular bindi and dreamy eyes in dancing wares of lyrical presentation….
The exhibition is at Museum Art Gallery – till October 2. Contact: 022-22844484.
