At the Jehangir Art Gallery, two artists – Sanjay Tikkal and Sanjay Punekar – are holding an exhibition entitled ‘Elemental Confluence’. And this title, they add, is all about discovery of the inner self.
In Sanjay Tikkal’s paintings, the focus is on joy, excitement, anxiety, forgetfulness, compassion, humanity, tranquility. The artist spent the early part of his life in the Belapur village. In some of the works, he has tried to paint the memories.
Sanjay Punekar sees silence and solitude in nature. He paints landscapes into which he brings in birds, animals, and people too. He paints the many and varied moods of nature.
