As a top-class artist, Ram Kumar has arrived years ago. His very first works established him as an artist with a modern language and capacity for visualization. Perhaps over the years, his creations wore a more abstracted appearance.
Ram Kumar has always stuck to landscapes – a source that evidently inspires him. Today these landscapes have become so many mindscapes. And in whatever he does, there is an emphasis on aesthetics. That is an aspect of his work about which he has never neglected.
Ram Kumar’s works are on view at the ICIA gallery. Along with them, on display at the gallery are the paintings of Paresh Maity. His paintings are bright as bright can be. Energy exudes from those colours. To put it simply, his power of visualization is just great. In a single painting, he arranges multiple images harmoniously. And the colour of water in one of his painting is not blue but a most appropriate one. And there are colour contrasts which heighten the visual appeal of works.
Paresh Maity is today considered one of the modern artists with a capacity for evolving his own individual style.
