Crazy Bloody Thing Lov (lil tango…some tequila…& a tingling tale by (Captain) Deepak Bohra is a novel by an NDA graduate, and, as the jacket proclaims, ‘the youngest (and probably the only) serving officer in the Indian armed forces to endeavour a book completely outside the purview of military related subjects.’

Six young and talented contestants, all in their early twenties, meet up at the finals of an all-India debating talent hunt, and are thrown together for three days at Wilbur Woods auditorium in New Delhi. Three are girls – a journalist, a call-centre executive and an MBA student. Of the boys, one is a hotel management graduate, another an IIT engineer, and the third is a lieutenant in the army. Disparate vocations, educational backgrounds, and absolutely divergent attitudes to life. As the days pass each reveals an unexpected facet of his or her life, even as the courting game goes on.

Some reading is definitely recommended and Srishti Publishers should have done a better job while editing a budding writer’s efforts. The following immature expressions could have been honed up a bit: Each print on the dress seemed to be enjoying its nearness to Sameera. The puff sleeved dress cinched at the waist below flowing down, accentuating the lethality of her curves… Aryan was still absorbing her layout.’ ‘The respiratory organs again got dim-witted.’ ‘Mahi scratched her little cute nose as she colonized the hotseat.’
