We interviewed Darsheel Safary, portrayed as a dyslexic in ‘Taare Zameen Par’, a ‘child of God’ in ‘Bumm Bumm Bhole’ and presently, as a ‘crime superhero in Disney’s ‘Zokkomon’.
How does it feel to be a super hero?
It feels great to be a ‘Super Hero’ in Zokkomon. I am very grateful for this opportunity, it’s like a dream come true! Shooting the special effects, action sequences were very exciting.
Who are your favorite super-heroes?
Apart from Zokkomon, I also like Spiderman!
Has the adulation after ‘Taare Zameen Par’ affected you?
No. I still live a normal life, enjoy childhood and school life due to family and friends support.
How was working experience with ‘Zokkomon’?
It was brilliant working with my good friend Manjari and Anupam sir. William Ong trained me and my director, Satyajit Bhatkal gave me all I wanted.
How is your school life and what was your parents’ reaction to the film?
Now, I am in the 9th Std and school life is great! My parents haven’t seen the film yet, but are excited to see me as Zokkomon!
Would you like to be called as Brandon Routh, Heath Ledger or Toby Macguire?
No. Instead, Zokkomon or Darsheel Safary suits me better.
Are you still in touch with Aamir Khan?
Yes, definitely. He is my mentor, guide and giver of first opportunity.
Were the stunt scenes difficult? What are your forthcoming films?
A little bit, but William Ong ensured my safety, which increased my confidence and I enjoyed the action. I am also looking forward to the
new Spiderman.
