Yesteryear Bollywood diva and glam-girl Zeenat Aman was “emotionally moved to tears”, when her son Azaan Khan was honoured, with the ‘Best Directorial Debut’ Award for his upcoming Hindi movie ‘Bankster’ at the recent International Bollywood Film festival at Lorenskog in Norway, in the presence of various top local foreign dignitaries including the city Mayor. Incidentally the same movie was the ceremonial ‘opening film’ of the grand film-fest.
“My son Azaan has directed this gripping thriller film ‘Bankster’ which has a ‘bank heist’ as its underlying theme. But it also has male buddy-bonding and breath-taking action scenes. Seasoned actor Naseeruddin Shah has an interesting role in the film, while the rest of the cast are all promising newcomers,” said the veteran actress. When asked why she was not keen to face the camera in her son’s movie? Amidst a chuckle Zeenat said, “I have already played the ‘role’ of a co-producer for this venture. And then there was no acting role for me in it.”
Meanwhile, her younger son Zahaan who met with a minor road accident, a few weeks ago, is completely out of danger. “It was a head injury and by God’s grace Zahaan is steadily recovering,” sighs the affable Aman.
