Exuberant actress-singer Shraddha Kapoor is in an upbeat mood as she hums the top-trending chartbuster gaana from her latest movie ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ which goes ‘When you are getting ‘gold’, why go for taamba (copper)’ . The outspoken Shraddha seems sorted and chilled-out, although her recent runaway-hit movie ‘Stree’ has crossed the Rs.100 crore benchmark. “Personally, I never keep tabs on the collections of my released movies. Mostly I get to know from my dad ( Shakti Kapoor), the media or my well-wishers. Frankly, I feel so elated being complimented, because not every film of mine strikes gold. Shuru sey, I have reconciled to the fact that ‘hits and misses’ are a cyclical part of an actor’s career. Actually success makes me want to work harder,” shrugs the ‘ABCD-2’ girl. “Out here in ‘Batti Gul…’ which is also a frothy, comical, social eye-opener, directed by Shree Narayan Singh, my chulbuli role is quite realistic, as I speak the Kumaoni dialect. My Lalita ‘Nauti’ Nautiyal character is that of a quirky fashion designer, who brags that she is the best in her entire region. But in reality, she has a bizarre-weird sartorial sense and speaks in a loud-pitched voice. By nature she is moohfatt with a strong conscience. She has this engaging love-hate equation with Shahid Kapoor’s street-smart dabangg lawyer character,” laughs Shraddha who “fell in love with the breath-taking countryside locales and the endearing local culture in Uttarakhand, that I just didn’t wish to return to Mumbai”.
