When mother's womb becomes a cremation centre for daughter

Genuine Entertainment Corps’ “Mujhe Bhi Ye Duniya Dekhni Hain’, a Hindi film related to female infanticide, by Satyaprakash Mangtani, is slated to release on January 12, 2018 throughout the country. The film stands against practice of abortion of a girl child prevalent in our country despite laws to prevent such abortions. It is a cry of a girl child in a mother’s womb against her abortion.

The film revolves around an uneasy relationship between a pregnant daughter-in-law Ketki and her mother-in-law Shalini. Ketki names her child in womb Harsha, presuming she may be a girl child. Based on a sonography report, her husband Sahil and Shalini and decide to abort the child. However, a voice comes from the womb..” I too want to see this world”…

The 150 minute film seeks to throw light on this age old practice to awaken the society against this evil practice. The music of the film was recently launched by Anandji (of Kalyanji Anandji duo). Musician Shravan and others were present.

Speaking to The Afternoon D & C, Mangtani said that if doctors decide, this practice can be brought to an end. There should be very heavy fine for the offence of carrying out pre-natal sex determination tests. Mangatani had earlier produced the first 3 D Marathi film “ Aai Mala Maru Nako (3D) (2012) based on the same theme.

The star cast of the film include: Jayashree T, Viju Khote, Mukesh Khanna, Suhas D Joshi, Avinash Jadhav, Mrunalini, Manoj Anand, Komal Dhillon, Shailesh Pitambare and Baby Muskan. The music has been scored by Shrihari Vaze, while lyrics have been penned by Satyaprakash Mangtani. Other credits are : cinematography: Rajan Lyallpuri, choreography: Pappu Khanna and editing: Sanjay Das and R P Singh.
