Vidya Balan is an accomplished actress known for her acting talent in films like ‘Parineeta’, ‘Kahaani, ‘Paa’, ‘Dirty Picture’etc. Now she is all set to wow her fans in Ribhu Dasgupta’s ‘TE3N’.
ADC spoke to her at the press meet of the film, and this is what she had to say. She speaks candid, “Actually, it’s a special appearance and not a full fledged role. I play a cop in Kolkata who helps a grandfather seeking justice for his missing granddaughter after eight years. I assist him in finding his granddaughter”.
When asked what made her accept this role, ''I have a good equation with Director Sujoy Ghosh, who is the man behind the project after we worked together in ''Kahaani'' and I liked my role as I have not played a role like this before, and that I could work with Amitji. Co-incidentally, Kolkata is my favourite city, so it was an added attraction for me”.
We quizzed her further about Kolkata that fascinates her, ''The whole city fascinates me with its people, the trams and the metro rail and now, the flyovers, the wonderful food, the colours and the entire culture of the city. Sujoy is a complete madman, always cracking jokes and making us laugh on the sets while Ribhu, the director is serious and more veered towards making a good film”.
Probed into detail about whether she prepared for the role of a cop, she says, “I went entirely by the directors vision. I also interacted with a few Kolkata cops to get the feel of the character”.
