So in between a not so exciting time at the movies, another installment of this and that:

• After watching The Father on stage, it has been proved once again that Naseeruddin Shah is utterly brilliant, but so’s Ratna Pathak Shah
• One of the most handsome stars in Bollywood, Arjun Rampal plays a short and ordinary looking gangster in Daddy—talk of miscasting.
• Some filmmakers insist on making films about gangsters, when Akshay Kumar has shown that it is possible to make biopics about real life heroes and make them work at the box-office.
• Every time Kangana Ranaut has a film coming up, will she drag her so-called affair with Hrithik Roshan for publicity? She is much too talented to resort to such tactics.
• Poster Boys must be one of those rare films in which the Deol Brothers are doing something offbeat in terms of subject. It’s about Bobby Deol giving his career one more chance before deciding that the family name isn’t going to help.
• Some of the industry kids and siblings have ended up in television and web series… better than sitting idle.
• If the promo is so loud can Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi be any less noisy?
• Hope the trolls don’t take the edge of Rishi Kapoor’s sense of humour on Twitter.
• Between his work on the stage and his making of socially relevant films, how on earth did Ananth Narayan Mahadeven get the time or inclination to make an Aksar 2.
• Zarine Khan must have had great patience to hang around in Bollywood waiting for work, and finally get a film.
• The promos of Rajkummar Rao’s Newton are getting a great response—that is half the battle won.
• Amitabh Bachchan sending Rajkummar Rao (and some others) hand written notes of appreciation is just a gracious gesture, not many stars care about anything except their own films
