Making waves in showbiz these days is Bollywood composer-recreator-musician Tanishk Bagchi, who has brilliantly recreated retro- tracks ‘Raat Baaki’ ( ‘Ittefaq) and ‘Hawaa HawaaiTumhari Sullu’) which are on the top playlists of almost all DJs at discotheques and at wedding sangeets. Not many are aware that Tanishk sings very well.
“Shortly I will also sing ‘playback’ for my upcoming movies too. Actually most of my songs that have been hits have my voice underlining the main voices such as ‘Sweety Tera Drama’ ( ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’) and the title track of ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania,” discloses Bagchi who instead of recyling ‘Zindagi Ittefaq Hai’ from the retro B R Chopra movie ‘Aadmi Aur Insaan’( 1969) preferred the ‘Raat Baaki’ track for regenerating as decided by the Dharma Productions team and director Abhay Chopra.
“The response to the promotional video-audio track ‘Raat Baaki’ is so overwhelming. Besides regenerating, I have programmed and designed the song including voice selections and additional lyrics. I have introduced a new genre of sound called ‘Atmos’-pop for this song, to create that feel with a Bollywood vibe.” It was a huge challenge as the original ‘Ittefaq’ is a songless film,” enthuses Tanishk, who in the past two years, has created more than 15 hit songs back-to-back of which ten are original and five are recreations. After this, there is the Saif Ali Khan starrer ‘Bazaar’ movie coming up next. Besides that, I have a lot of originals lined up including my own singles and collaborations,” discloses Tanishk who had also recreated and added his vocals to the sensational A R Rahman disco-track ‘Humma Humma’ for the movie ‘Ok Jaanu’.
