
Mee Sindhutai Sapkal helmed by famed actor-director Anant Mahadevan, is his first foray into Marathi cinema. Produced by Bindiya and Sachin Khanolkar under the banner of Siddhivinayak Creations, the film is winning laurels in prestigious international film festivals all over the world.
It is now the closing Film at the Third Eye 9 Asian Film Festival Mumbai, 2010 and is the official selection at New York, South Asian Film Festival. The film has also bagged a nomination at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards in Brisbane for Best Actor Tejaswini Pandit.
The film is about the life of an illiterate widowed lady Sindhutai Sakpal who faces hardships in her own life but still helps destitute children in order to make their lives better.
Tejaswini Pandit plays the Sindhutai from ages 20-40, while veteran actor Jyoti Chandekar plays her as an older woman.
The film scripted by Sanjay Pawar, scored by Ashok Patki and shot by K.Rajkumar. Co-stars include Upendra Limaye, Suhas Palshikar, Neena Kulkarni, Ganesh Yadav, and child star Pranjal Shetye. The film releases on November 12.
