Cool dude Ajay Devgn who is known for his naughty pranks and pulling fast-ones on his unsuspecting co-stars and his crew, is part of a ‘fast-won’ filmy mission this time.
The versatile macho actor who excels at both comedy and hard-core action is now euphoric with his latest magnum opus, multi-starrer Tezz, which is directed by Priyadarshan and produced by Ratan Jain. “Believe me, Tezz, in which I am playing the lead anti-hero role, is one the slickest movies ever made in Bollywood and matches up to Hollywood standards in terms of content and mounting. The action portions of the speeding train shot in London (U.K.) are so breath-taking,” enthuses Devgn, who inspite of his ever-busy schedules finds quality time to devote for his ‘laadli’ daughter Nysa who celebrated her birthday recently.
Incidentally, way back in 1980, there was this Bolly-wood movie The Burning Train directed by Ravi Chopra which in those days was considered a benchmark of sorts Because besides the marquee multi-star cast, it had a hurtling hi-speed train caught in explosive flames (thanks to actor Danny Denzongpa) heading towards disaster with all the music and masala.
Rumours were rife that Tezz is supposedly a clever rip off of the Hollywood hit movie Speed. However, the Golmaal hero brushes away the charges. “Our movie Tezz has a different story-line and fresh treatment with lots of Indianised emotions and drama, and has its unique hi-tech highlights,” insists Ajay who in Tezz has worked with co-star Anil Kapoor for ther first time in his career.
“Interacting with Anil-ji on the sets, one observes his stamina, his dedication and amazing acting forte which is such a delight. Even after 30 years of being in Bollywood he has maintained his con-sistency graph,”shrugs the actor who has a doting wife in the form of acclaimed actress Kajol.
