Taapsee Pannu is a newbie who has scored on the Hindi film screen with films like Chasme Buddoor, and Baby. Now she plays one of the most important roles in her career in ‘Pink’ as we got to know more about her role in Pink at the trailer launch of the film. Here is what the Punjabi gal has to tell us.
Pink seems to be an important role for you.
Yes. I play a rape victim in Delhi who fights against her rapists in court tooth and nail without bending down and Amitabh Bachchan plays the fiery lawyer who helps her to get the accused rapists to be convicted though they are boys from influential and rich families.
Is the case based on the famous Nirbhaya case?
One can say so but in Delhi it’s a frequent occurrence and since I have lived in Delhi for quite awhile, I have seen it happening from close quarters which helped me to essay the role convincingly.
How was it like working on the film?
It was great and my dream of working with my idol Amitabh Bachchan has come true and I am still feeling the goosebumps and he was such a kind and comforting person that I didn’t feel any discomfort while working with him though there were many serious scenes in the film where Amitabh sir and me have a lot of questions and answers being asked in the courtroom.
Also my other co-stars like Angad Bedi, Piyush Mishra, Kriti Kulhari, and the others have done a great job and I had a whale of a time working with them. Also, the men behind the scenes like producers Rashmi Sharma and producer Shoojit Sircar and director Anirudh Roy Choudhary have been the pillars of this film and are responsible for the film to be such a watchable film.
Are you working down South too?
Yes, I am doing a few South films too but I am eager to work in Hindi films and after Baby where I got a lot of appreciation I am eager to get many such offers.
