There is a lot of buzz about Raanjhanaa.
Yes there is. A. R Rehman’s music is a hit and Abhay Deol and Sonam Kapoor make a wonderful on-screen couple. To add to it all, the director Anand Rai is also on a high after the success of Tanu weds Manu.
What is your role in the film?
I play a girl called Bindiya, who is fun-loving and chirpy and pretty gung-ho about life.
What was it like working with Sonam Kapoor?
Sonam is extremely humble with no frills. I got along well with her, and we had a great time shopping and visiting new places together. The best thing about shooting with her is that she’s so warm and interactive, that there is no possibility of stress creeping in.
What is your highlight in the film?
I consider the song ‘Ay Sakhi Sajan‘ to be my highlight. It is the only song in the film to feature the entire primary cast. I actually remember being very nervous while shooting it, since it was the first time I was going to be doing a choreographed dance in a sari. But our choreographer Caesar and his assistant Tina, took me through the entire song. Interestingly, it was Sonam who came to my rescue with tips and easy advice on the steps.
How is Anand Rai as a director?
He is the perfect director any actor can dream of working with, because he leaves the performing entirely to the actors, and allows them to grow.
