'Steve Jobs' biography changed my idea of business'

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, an avid reader of fiction and non-fiction, says biography of Apple co-founder changed his ideas about business

The 50-year-old actor says the book made him realise people should focus only on one thing at a time and that idea changed the direction of his own company, Red Chillies Entertainment.

"At Red Chillies Entertainment, I was involved in multiple businesses. But after reading the book (on Steve Jobs), I realised that focusing only on one thing will help," SRK said.

“So, we stopped TV and ad production and focused entirely on films and visual effects,”the actor said while interacting on #fame, a live entertainment application.

Shah Rukh, however, does not completely agree with all the rules given in the book The "Dilwale" star revealed that another author Malcolm Gladwell's book "Blink" is about doing business.

The book explains that in a competition, the guy who blinks first loses first. The "Fan" actor recommended Blake Snyder's "Save the Cat" for all aspiring writers. This is one of the best books on screenplay writing that I have read so far. It was during his shoot for Yash Chopra's "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" in London when he got several copies of EL James' erotic-romance "Fifty Shades of Grey", which he is yet to finish reading.

Devdas will always be special: SRK
Superstar Shah Rukh Khan has thanked director Sanjay Leela Bhansali for giving him "Devdas", in a tribute to the romance-drama on its 14th anniversary. The movie, an adaptation of the 1917 Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay's novel "Devdas", completes 14 years today.

Shah Rukh, whose performance in the film is considered one of his most special works by his fans, took to Twitter to mark the occasion. "Devdas will always b special. Thank you Bhansali... The beautiful ladies & everyone. Late nights... Long shoots &so much love," the 50-year-old actor tweeted.

The epic love story featured Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the role of Devdas' childhood sweetheart Paro and Madhuri Dixit Nene as courtesan Chandramukhi, who lends support to the hero as he descends into alcohol after his beloved gets married to someone else.

Bhansali's "Devdas" was preceded by director Bimal Roy's 1955 adaptation of the novel, starring Dilip Kumar in the titular role, and 1936's "Devdas" with K L Saigal in the lead role. Besides Hindi, the novel has also been adapted into films of other languages.
